Meet MJN By Design
MJN By Design was founded by Marian, a Queens-based designer with a background in visual merchandising and high-end personal styling. That background shapes everything. A beautiful space isn't just one that looks good; it works for the people who live and move through it every day.
Today, the studio operates across residential and commercial projects, as well as event production, working with clients locally and virtually. Whether it's a full interior layout, a styling refresh, or a complex event from concept to execution, the process always starts in the same place: understanding how you move through your world and what you actually need from your space.
Marian approaches every project with a genuine curiosity about people, informed by a love of art and experiencing different cultures through travel. There's no signature look here and no predetermined direction. The client, the space, and the story behind it shape every project. The goal is always to create something that feels completely authentic to whomever it's made for.

Our process is rooted in communication. Before we begin sourcing or drawing, we focus on your goals for the space. Whether we work together locally or connect through our virtual design platform, the experience is transparent and collaborative, ensuring you feel involved and informed during every phase of the project.
How It Works

Design & Styling (In-Person/Remote)
Every project starts with a discovery call, available to clients locally and worldwide, to talk through your vision and what you need your space to do. For local clients, a site visit follows. For virtual clients, we work through digital walkthroughs to get a full picture of the space. From there, I put together a cohesive concept, including mood boards and material palettes, for your review. Once we land on a direction, I handle the sourcing and logistics. The project wraps up with a careful installation for local clients or a guided virtual styling session, so your space feels exactly the way it should.

Space Organization
We start with a discussion about what isn't working for you and how you actually move through your home day to day. From there we do a guided declutter session together, then I design an organization system built around your habits, not a generic method. I source whatever storage solutions we need to make it function the way it should. We finish with a walkthrough together so you feel confident using the space and everything makes sense for the long run.

Events
We kick things off with a call to talk through your vision, guest count, budget, and timeline. From there I put together a concept and mood board so you can see the direction before anything is locked in. Once we're aligned I handle vendor sourcing, coordination, and all the design and décor planning. On the day of, I'm there from setup to breakdown so you can be fully present and actually enjoy it.
